Counseling is about working together to optimize your story, circumstances, and skills to enhance and expand your current quality of life. While many people seek counseling during times of distress, it is actually considered a wellness practice involving a trained counselor that can walk alongside you and assist you in achieving the goals you desire (which are often encouraged or inspired by a distressing situation). Much like someone on a journey to achieve optimal physical health seeks out a personal trainer, a counselor can be helpful in identifying concerns, problem solving through obstacles and challenges, and providing accountability and constructive feedback.
